I am so excited to participate in this year’s BAZAART at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. It is my absolute favorite holiday market! BAZAART will have original creations by over 50 regional artists and craftspeople. Painting, sculpture, paper crafts, metalwork, jewelry, textiles, mixed media, and other work that simply defies categorization! BAZAART is held at AVAM’s Jim Rouse Visionary Center, 3rd Floor, 800 Key Highway.
You have two chances to visit the market! The main event is held on Saturday, November 29, 2014, 10:00-5:00 pm . FREE ENTRY! BAZAART shoppers are welcome to tour the entire Jim Rouse Visionary Center for free on this day, and the rest of the museum will be open (regular admission applies).
On Friday, November 28, 2014, 5:30-8:00 pm you can beat the crowds at the First Dibs Preview Party. Spend a relaxing evening with BAZAART artisans as you preview their wares while nibbling light fare and enjoying a special beverage (beer, wine, soda). There is an entry fee of $20 or $10 if you are an AVAM member. Tickets will be sold at the door.
I will be exhibiting my hats again this weekend as I travel south to Annmarie Sculpture Garden and Arts Center for Artsfest in Dowell (Solomons), MD. The show runs 10am-5pm on Saturday, September 20th, and Sunday, September 21st. You can find me in Booth 2 inside the Murray Arts Building.
More than 170 artist booths, 25 performers on three stages, activities for kids in the Discovery Tent, Studio School, and the Zany Zone, great food, wine & beer, and more! Street performers, including stilt walkers, mimes, living statues, balloon artists, bubble artists, and strolling artists, found throughout the festival! It’s a fabulous weekend of great shopping and artful activities. Download a $1 off coupon at www.annmariegarden.org. See you there!
I’ll be exhibiting my hats at the Hyattsville Arts Festival on Saturday, September 13th! There will be over 70 exhibiting artists, live entertainment on 3 stages, and great food on the happening streets of Hyattsville. Last year, over 4,000 DC-area art lovers attended this great festival. This year visitors will also find exciting new housing to tour (I heard last year they had free wine tastings on the roof!) and new retail shops. Come see me!
I am very pleased to be part of a wearable art exhibition in the Stone Tower Gallery at Glen Echo Park! The exhibit is titled Functional, Whimsical, Wearable! I have four hats included in the exhibit. It opens Saturday, August 16th and runs through Sunday, September 14th. There will be an Art Walk in the Park on Friday, September 12th, 6-8pm, where many of the studios and galleries will be open for folks to enjoy. A perfect time to visit! Another great weekend to check out the exhibit is over Labor Day weekend when the 44th annual Labor Day Art Show takes place in the Spanish Ballroom with over 450 works of art. The Stone Tower Gallery is open Saturdays and Sundays, 12-6 pm, and Labor Day Monday, 12-6 pm. Check it out!
I will be exhibiting my handmade hats at the Annapolis Arts Crafts and Wine Festival on June 7th and 8th in Annapolis, Maryland! The festival features juried fine arts and handmade crafts, wine tastings from over 25 Maryland wineries, smooth jazz all day long, delectable cuisine, and activities for the whole family. The festival takes place at the Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium, a short distance from historic downtown Annapolis, a colonial waterfront community filled with unique shops, restaurants and attractions, in addition to a lively arts and entertainment scene. I will have plenty of new stock available for purchase and will also be taking custom orders. I’m very excited to participate and hope to see you there!
